    I am using photoshop PS5 and can't find the extract filter, any idea's anyone?

    It's been replaced with refine mask / edge mode under the select menu. It's greyed out until you make a selection / mask

    It's crap Pete.....i used to be able to cut out fine hair with extract, i can't do **** with this thing, the bloke who made this change needs to find another job Sad

    I vaguely remember that when CS4 was released it did not immediately have Extract because I think Adobe had recognised that it was not very good compared to various commercial Plug-ins. However, it was on the DVD and you could still install if you wished which I did. I still have CS4 but now have Topaz filters and Topaz re-Mask 3 is easily the best extraction tool I have used. Although without any special skills Re-mask 3 is very good, you do need to learn how to get the best out of it from the various Topaz tutorials.
