I'm considering getting one of these to download images direct to my Galaxy Tab during Studio sessions (as a way of checking images on a larger screen for stray hairs, make-up smudges etc). I could use my laptop via USB cable but would rather work wirelessly if possible and if these cards work they are a fraction of the price of the official canon wireless devices.
Has anyone used this card in this way and if so, how did it go?
Brian do you shoot SD card or CF card?
If you're restricted to CF you can't get an Eye-Fi CF card. There are CF-SD adaptors but they don't work well in cameras and are definitely not recommended for Eye-Fi
I was considering getting one, but with my cameras I'd have to use adaptors so abandoned the idea. I did read through these reviews and found them useful.
I was think of doing the same thing with my Xoom tablet. I have seen many reviews on Amazon where people use the adapter with the eye fi without issues. Some have just commented on how slow it could be.
I can do both SD and CF, but I dont want to swap my 32G SD card out for an 8G.
I have use the EyeFi/CF combination in my Olympus E30 at a number of balls lasting many hours and not had a problem.
Every shot taken arrived at the laptop. In busy periods it was taking around 7 minutes from taking the shot to it arriving but none were dropped.
Setting up in the first instance was a hassle because I do not have an internet connection when working so had to set up via a router.

7 minutes? How were you viewing them on the laptop Barry? Also have you tried with a tablet of any sort?
I used Faststone image view (freeware) on the laptop. This automatically displayed the images when they arrived.
The 7 minutes from shooting to viewing was not the norm, I was probably taking 3 or 4 shots a minute without pausing at this time.
It would take less than a minute if no images were queued
Only ever tried with a laptop at an event and with my PC at home.
Not sure how tablets work but you would need to hook up the USB EyfFi card reader to the tablet and connect to the internet to register the device in the first instance.

Barry, (hope you don't mind me quizzing you about these and that OP doesn't mind me asking a few more questions). Do you have to run some software on the laptop to receive the images. I've a feeling that if so then that software wouldn't run on Android. Do you know if it is possible to view the images on your Eye-Fi card with a web browser (which tablets have)
You need to install the EyeFi software on the devise that will receive the images, this is available for android, I have it on my HTC but have not tried to send images to it.
Brian, I am not sure about the new X2 pro card mine is the older 4gb connect 2. I was thinking of getting myself one for christmas ![]()
The images on the card are jpg so I can see no reason why you would not be able to view them in a web browser.
Barry
I have just ordered the 8gb x2 pro, and yes it will work on my XOOM, and ad hoc to my laptop. There is an ap for android and a program for windows although it seems support stops at win vista.
Will be with me wed this week, so I can give you a mini review if needed? ![]()
