Am I the only person who is finding the current Countryfile format utterly tedious ? I know the original always had a farming interest component but it's getting obsessive.

Tonight's edition (of which I only watched the first half) seemed to be a recap/repeat of previous editions. Having an interest in agriculture I welcome airing of the realism of issues facing farmers and Adam Henson is an excellent ambassador. So no; I don't find it tedious and wish that more people understood what goes on in the country. The disconnection of the general population from their source of food concerns me.

    Absolutely spot on.....Smile

I used to really enjoy the bits about farming and I fully appreciate the fact that at some point somewhere the connection must be made but I liked the fact that Farmers Weekly was Farmers Weekly and Countryfile was Countryfile. Something's been lost somewhere and I can't quite put my finger on it.

Ahh well, Farmers Weekly is a shadow of its former self too!! Wink The trouble is everyone is rushing to the middle ground as there is no profit in being a specialist. (Come to think of it that goes for lots of things!!)WinkSmile

Required watching in our house Chris - for that, and so many, other reasons.

    Sorry.

Ummm I hate to break it to you Chris, but in spite of the best attempts of Natural England and the Dept for the Eradication of Farming and Rural Activities there is still rather a lot of farming in the countryside...

The last government kept that one quiet, but I think the people should be told Wink

I think it must depend on who you are, but I thought it was absolutely wonderful. Henson is quite remarkable.

And there's me living in the countryside in a farming community. You'd think I'd know, wouldn't you Wink

    I might start watching then.
