Adele, Carol King and Kate Bush are good calls, but in my fav's list I have to add a shout for Beth Neilson Chapman, Gretchen Peters, Madeleine Peroux, Melody Gardot (not sure of the spellings here). Rumour is currently getting a lot of play time in my iPod - or for something at bit more up tempo and recent Caro Emerald is worth a listen.
