The riots really annoy me as they are seem to be just lawless groups coming together in opportunistic gatherings to abuse a situation.
I wander when vigilantes will come out in force to protect places of work and homes, and restore the UK as a safe place an attractive tourist destination. I'd punish perpetrators more severely for such group action.
Quote: Gun Crime again, if the lad who was shot was not carrying a gun, replica or not and participating in gang warfare I doubt any of this would have happened
It may well have been the trigger but it seems to have gone a long way from that now - gangs of youths just deciding they can get away with breaking and entering on a massive scale. There seems to be a lot of hitting places and moving on quite quickly which makes it very difficult for the police to get the numbers they need together to deal with it effectivly. Though I saw last night that they have a new tactic of driving at them full speed with riot vans.
Walking to work this morning I was saddened to see the road strewn with burnt debries blown on the wiind and a huge plume of smoke over Enfield
I see a new twitter hashtag has appeared #riotcleanup for people to organise the clean up, it's good to see people getting organised against this wanton destruction.

Unless it's Libya,Egypt or Syria then they're Freedom Fighters trying to overthrow dictatorial governments i.e. governments that do what they want instead of what they say they were going to do.![]()

That's all we need. Pitched battles between vigilantes and rioters. How will this solve the problem, exactly?

I can't see what breaking into JJB sports and knicking trainers has to do with legitamate protest against the government. Or how getting enough mates together to break into the local Sony centre, robbing a flat screen TV & then torching the place is about changing a corrupt political system.
I'm waiting for CB to turn up & explain to us how this has all been planned by TPTB ![]()

True, but i simply don't know if that's the case(legitimate protest) in the other countries, that's what they tell us,doesn't mean it's true.
Deploy the army and open fire on them.
That would make the lawless bastards think twice about it. Its about time this nanny state of a country we live in got tough of the useless, lawless morons that are committing crime because they can.
There thats my feelings on the matter and im sticking to them.
Steve.
It actually makes me feel quite sad, there are businesses amongst that destruction that have probably put their whole lives into building - what right do people feel they have to destroy it!
Quote: No doubt someone will say that this thuggery is all down to the government cuts
They already have, but there is no excuse, none.
Organised through Twitter and Facebook again, there should be something done to curb the incitement.

The news seems to be blaming blackberry messaging as it is a secure network that can't be eves dropped upon.
Though I can't help feeling the news coverage makes for a lot of copy-cat rioting.
inter-gang competition to see who can cause the most mayhem? I see at least one message has been recorded as saying they need to kill a policeman now, maybe there will be other "Trophy Targets" listed?
It saddens and aggravates me in equal amounts and I have no idea what can be done to stop it
(other than preventing the BBC and others legitimising them by calling the scum involved "Protestors" and putting up apologists who make out the those doing it aren't really responsible for their actions but are forced to do it through "circumstances" ((put in gov't, bankers, economics etc)) depending on your viewpoint )
Oh right so they have blackberrys then! lol

They ought to find those responsible and make them clean it up, chained together if necessary wearing big orange boiler suits and caps with 'moron' written on the front - humiliate them and make them work!

That's the irony isn't it. Deprived youths rioting against joblessness and yet they can afford a Blackberry.
