File Numbering Issue with my 5D MKII

13 Aug 2012 6:16PM
I recently had my camera serviced by Canon and I've noticed something that the camera is now doing that it didn't do before.

Beforehand the image numbers were continous - i.e. on each shoot the image number would carry on from the previous shoot. What I'm now noticing is that it now doesn't. It starts from, say around _MG_9919 onwards. If I then do another shoot the image numbering will again start from around _MG_9919.

In my menus the file numbering is set to continous and this seems to happen when I change the card (which are freshly formatted). I really don't like this as I prefer each shoot to have different image numbers.

Anyone got any ideas on what might be causing this?
