I have recently acquired an Olympus OM40 plus lenses, flashes, filters, etc (thanks Dad!). I really want to give it a go and wondered if any of you knowledgeable people could point me in the direction of a good and reasonably priced company who develop film plus put the images onto a CD to enable editing. Mail order or High Street would be fine.

Good firm, with great options, prices and very versatile - you can even clarify the scan res/quality on the cd from film if you want

My lab I use now is SigFoto, part of Sigma Pharmaceuticals and they deal with High Stree Pharmacies -- the Mail Order ones I USED to use such as BonusPrint charge so much for the POSTAGE now -- more than the processing of the films !

Just a note.
make sure that the CD is high res images, A few people have asked me lately to print images from CD and most seem to be low res copies.
Not saying the above are and have used all for prossesing film with no problems but check your order.

Thanks Graham, I did notice that some online companies were offering free CDs but only at low res - there was a charge for high res ones!
