Hi all,

Thanks for all the support throughout the International Garden Photographer of the Year photography competition results. I got an e-mail today linking me to this page of the eight finalists... I tried my best remember and I can't win everything.

Here is the link

So... Yippeee!!! I won the whole category for the young section which I think means that my picture is going to be hung up in Kew Gardens from 1st of May SmileSmileSmile

If that is the case then it will be very impressive.

The exhibition of the previous year's competition has recently finished at Wakehurst Place and the standard was very high & the quality just so good Smile

During the months it was on I detoured past it every visit. ( at least once a week except during the snow when it was closed)

If it comes comes again later this year I will keep a look out for your shot Smile

Jonah, no idea of the exact numbers but am almost certain that the overall "YOUNG" winner and the category winners were all exhibited.

This goes for all the other categories as well.

Also, it will almost certainly be printed in the book but I believe only the "overall" as opposed to "category" winners get turned into cards & prints.

Just for info Jonah.

All the shots are printed onto some sort of special laminated board as the exhibition is outdoors on massive display boards.
So, it will be a lot bigger than you see here on epz.

But, please understand that:
This is only my understanding of the situation so what actually is the case may be different, but I hope not and your shot is indeed included Smile

All I would like to know is if the young category winners get their images put up at the gardens... I appreciate that you only have limited knowledge, and I have emailed the staff there.

Well done Jonah,

Looking through the hire brochure for the previous year on the IGPOTY site it looks like 110 images (6 categories, under 16s and portfolios of 6 images) are displayed, so that would suggest all 8 under 16 images were displayed

I thought that out of the "Finalists" from each category they also picked an "Overall" winner, hence my comments above.

Best you check it out for yourself from the organisers.

Thanks guys... BTW = I might as well announce it here - I have sort of joined the EPZ team and am a Junior Support/Moderator person. Pete and I were talking about moderating but I was probably a bit young - so we thought having another junior assigned to help would be nice... so from monday I will have a new title.
