hi all, i need some help and hope someone can come to the rescue...
to make this as slightly confusing as possible, dont want to confuse anyone i will keep everything easy to read, or hopefully i will anyway
recently i bought these items (slave trigger) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120860249625?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p398... to use with an old flash unit i bought to use with my camera which doesnt have a hot shoe mount on it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cobra-450AF-Flash-Unit-for-Pentax-MZ-/330828539381?_tr...
once those arrived i now needed to buy a light stand as i only had a tripod otherwise so i bought this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Photography-Light-professional-studio-photolamps/dp/B001...
and with the same order i bought this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Umbrella-Bracket-hot-shoe-flashes-Minolta/dp/B004YNF3DI/... which turned out to be a poorly made and assembled load of rubbish, but even if it wasn't im not sure how i would have attached the thing to my light stand, and plus the slave trigger did not fit on this bracket, partly because the bracket was faulty anyway and didnt stay together in one piece
now ive been looking at similar brackets, but c type brackets instead like this one here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360-Swivel-flash-shoe-Bracket-Umbrella-Holder-C2-type-...
now i want to be sure what im buying is what i need, so should one of those c type brackets be compatible with my equipment? im sure my umbrella will slide on there like it should, but what about attaching the slave trigger to it which will be holding my external flash at the same time, and of course what about attaching this to the light stand? from the pictures it looks quite easy but i want to confirm this is what i need?
hope i did not go on for too long, but please help!
Am I right in thinking you got flash/umbrella bracket in Minolta/Sony fitting, if you did that slave will not fit anyway, get a bracket with the standard flash shoe fitting.
