This is to anyone with Olympus E500 but anyone can help if they can.
I have recently started exploring the features more and have fried taking close ups in macro, auto and manual.
When I get really close I just can't get the camera to focus.
Any advice would be appreciated from anyone with knowledge to pass on.

Firstly what lens are you using, the kit lens will not get you that close.
Yeah i'm using the lens that came with the camera. I take it this is not the thing to do?
I didn't realise I would need a different lense.
There is a photo of a Rhododendron in my PF and thats about as close as I can get.
Is that all it boils down to? The need of a specialist lens?
Its not going to be the best lens for macro, would get by as long its not insects etc.
Use manual focus and try moving back a little, you could be just a little too close for the lens to cope.
ok mate will give that a go. thanks for your swift response.
If you want to focus closer, you will need the macro lens or get the extension tubes.
