The built in unit might be small with limited power but did you know that using the flash in manual mode you can select any shutter speed and aperture and the flash unit will try to deliver the correct amount of light.

Here I took 4 pictures at a distance of about 4 feet using the built in flash, first at 1/500s, 2nd at 1/1000s, third at 1/2000s and a 4th at 1/4000. I used ISO 100 and an aperture of f4 throughout.

As you can see looking at the 4th, the flash has started running out of juice, its time to increase the ISO.

neat - I've just had a play but won't upload the pics of the fruit pie I was eating Smile

I just wish you could use the flash in silent mode - not being able to is really really annoying!

That`s the one Smile

I picked up the flash diffuser that work really well on the x10, good in macro mode as well (not super)

Its says Panasonic GF series but it fits the x10 well enough, it would probably fit other compacts as well like the LX7 and so on.

Its not too small, spreads the light well.

Ta - I'll probably order one tomorrow. I was too busy sitting in the sunshine doing nothing but reading a book today - and trying to get IE9 to work this evening (failed)........

I've not tried Firefox - I usually use Chrome but can/could only get the webcam at the folks to work on IE (which as of a week ago won't open anything) - it wouldn't play on Chrome. Whether it'll work with Firefox who knows - I guess I'll give it a go later and find out!

I'd not know about games either - not played any for a long long time Smile This is a webcam that is set up in outside the stable so I can watch the pony and whoever is about. Initially it appeared to be just an Active X problem but now IE won't open at all - I shall continue to think about that this evening - for now I'm too busy messing about Smile
