Quote:just popped into my local camera shop to 'have a little look at the x10' and appear to have come away with a new camera!

Well it clearly has appeal on an aesthetic level! Grin

viewfinder (which was one of the biggest selling points for me) is clear and bright. Obviously not up there with the hybrid one on the x100 but still very useable. The manual zoom and on/off system is also a joy to use. And yes aesthetically it does look and feel fantastic. Some of us still remember pre-digital times when any decent camera would be an aesthetic and ergonomic pleasure to use

Did you get it for a good price Mike.

The camera`s barely left my side in the few weeks I`ve had it, I should imagine that it would make for an ideal travel camera.

Hehe well some were better than others, who else will owns up to owning a bit of crud like this film compact from the early eighties, believe it or not the X10 is slightly smaller Smile

But isn't VAT added to the price once it's sent over to the UK?

Once the price drops below about 350 (incl VAT!) it will certainly be more interesting. I suspect it won't be that long. The Canon S100 launches in the UK in January... and the pre-order price of that is already down to about 380 and will, no doubt, drop to about 300 before too long.

I have the S90 and I really like the fact that it fits in my jeans pocket - I am not sure that the X10 would so that would be a significant factor for me unless I choose to use a waist pouch or somthing like that.
Such is the nature of compromise...

The only camera that would fit in my jeans pocket would be one of those little keyring ones - and then it would make an unsightly bump Smile

I've wondered on a couple of ocassions why the Olympus XZ-1 hasn't been mentioned in this thread, especially since Paul has contributed quite a bit to it. Is there something wrong with it that I've missed?

Maybe because it's a fuji x10 thread ? Tongue
