Full Frame Versus Crop

As a newbie to this site, hello and thanks for making me feel welcome.
I'm new to DSLR's and in the past have only used cheap point and click compact's.
I've decided to jump in feet first and devote more time to photography.
I keep seeing this "full frame v crop" conversation.
Can anyone point me in the direction of exactly what this is, as I'm totally confused.

Cheers and once again hello from Hampshire.

Darren

Your question relates to the size of the sensor used in the camera. We show examples here: Camera sensor sizes explained.
And there's a more in depth explanation here: Pixel Myths
