It is cute, but just look at the next shot!

This is repeated in the top of every pot (and a lot of them hopped away as I found them)!

A new Bearded Iris which has just come into bloom in the front garden (sorry there are only two of them, not a trio! Wink )

Rather less pretty, not such a nice photo, but the wrens are busy in our garden:

Our front garden taken last weekend at the height of the heatwave.

    img-3380sm.jpg

Since the rains came the clematis has started flowering.

Stopped raining now & the temperature is slowly rising back to double figures. (We were threatened with a frost last night but it didn't happen).
After the rain all the dormant salad-crop seeds are now starting to germinate; no amount of watering with a can seemed to have any effect. Mind you 12 hours of heavy rain may have made more impression.

Saw what I think was a young bluetit today - colours quite dark and striking, a fair amount of black / contrast. It landed on a red hot poker plant (I don't really like them, but they do provide colour). Anyway, here's the photo:

not sure it really does the thing justice.....

I have only just come across this thread Smile I have a small holding in rural Hungary so the garden is kinda busy at this time of the year!

At the moment I am mainly harvesting strawberries and cherries and turning them into wine Grin

Actually this pic makes the garden look awful but in reality it's flourishing - although I hate the colour of the fence (a job for the autumn), the garage needs a bit of tlc (another job for the autumn), the lawn needs cutting (but I like the daisies), and there's a few pots on the patio bit that need planting out but then I only bought them last Sunday so haven't had the chance yet.....

This chap was coated in yoghurt and dumped in the flower bed a couple of weeks ago so I've just picked him out to see how he's doing. I reckon a few months out there and he'll be excellent.

And I can't say I remember buying the Allium but then I do tend to pick up random bags of bulbs and just put them in any old pot - I never know what's going to come up where Smile
