Don't think so Tricia. It hasn't got the long stringy things on the seeds and the leaves are different.
You can tell I'm an expert botanist, can't you?! Grin

Looks like you might be right Alison. Although I've never heard of it, some pictures on Google do look very similar. Smile

It would be novel if I were rightSmile Spelt certainly lacks the long whispy bits and the leaves look kinda right Smile

The juvenile magpies are certainly enjoying this weather. They lay out on the grass by the fence in full sun, then hop over to the water bowls and have a good splash about. I took some pics but they're really bad as the sun's just too harsh and I'm shooting against the light from inside my kitchen quite far back so as not to disturb them. (Oh, and it doesn't help that I forgot to reset my exposure. It was -1. Duh! I'm always doing that!). BlushCouldn't get them both together but here's one bedraggled youngster enjoying its dip. Smile

Grin Thanks graceland and StrayCat! You just blew me ears out. Grin
Oh for a lovely garden like yours G. Sigh! Smile

But I don't think it is wheat, Rog. It just doesn't look like it. But hey, what do I know? Grin

PS: Oh, 'ang on. Just looked up pics of wheat and some do look like that. But mine look like spelt too. Oh well, whatever, it's a crop. Smile
