Does anyone use Outlook to connect to GMail? It's driving me nuts and I need a way to organise my info.
I current have THREE sent items folders..

And when I moved stuff into subfolders in Outlook, only 2 of the subfolders appeared on the web version, and most of the emails disappeared....

But they're still in my "Important" folder...

Losing the will to live at the moment...

I use Outlook but do not connect via IMAP I use POP so all my folders are in the outlook pst file.

The setting are not standard if you want to use pop instead of imap
Incoming server POP port is 995
Outgoing server SMTP Port is 587

Security needs to be set to SSL and TLS.

    Thanks Barry.
I was thinking the IMAP would be better, so I can access my mail on my phone as well, but I think I'd be happier using POP

If you want to access folders other than your inbox you need to use IMAP Bri, or at least I have never found another way to do it.

Yeah, I switched back to IMAP, from scratch. Outlook now seems to be using the correct Sent Items folder, and I removed the account from my phone email app, as I have the Gmail app on there anyway.

have to keep reminding myself, Gmail doesn't store stuff in folders, it just labels everything and uses Search.
