I think it's aimed at allowing you to buy online from sites that won't do delivery to the UK, by supplying you with an address in the USA, It's basically a parcel forwarding company. In effect , if my understanding is correct, you end up paying postage twice - once to get delivery to the USA address from the supplier and again when its forwarded to your UK address. Plus of course, as you already stated - you still have the probable UK import taxation to consider.
Depends how much you want something from a supplier that won't deliver directly to the UK .
