As you may have seen from the new features alerts we've been revamping the groups area of the site and made it easier to create a meeting (now called an event). Can those who criticised the last version take a look and let us know if it now works as you'd like.
many thanks

Why can't a meeting be called a meeting. Seems simple enough to me.

It's because we have meetings and events and not all events are meetings. But all meetings are events. And rather than have two sections we wanted to combine them into one.

Events are organized by anyone and are not specific to Epz. A meeting, however, is organized by and for Epz members to attend one of the said events.

Why does this thread remind me of "Sir Humphrey" ? Grin

Calling it an event is wrong and unintuitive in my view. Regular users may soon get used to it by newcomers will be mislead. Being different for the sake of it I'd say. Sorry.

Perhaps this should read " may not be specific to epz "

So no feedback apart from the use of wording? Interestingly Google has just announced Events as a way of "meeting" on G+

I prefer 'happening' to event or meeting.Tongue

I submitted a report with a suggestion as I thought that was the best way for the website development team to look into it.
I have had a reply from David

an event is the umbrella for parties, happenings, meetings, gatherings. But let's not get hung up on words. Do the changes now make it possible to use the section like those of you used to, but with the new additions make it better than before? That's what we hope to achieve. Smile

I suspect there won't be enough people joining. Also, the geographical areas look pretty wide making attending a hassle. They could become cliques. But I'm willing to be convinced.
