Many on here do earn a living from photography, if you can call it a living....
there must be lots of work out there for 'non portrait' photographers - but I think most people will agree that they tend to do a range of things to earn a living ....
myself - I get a bizzare range of stuff - one day I'll be doing a models portfolio the next I may be teaching a studio class, then I may be designing a spaceship in 3d graphics or taking snapshots of drunken idiots in nightclubs.
I think these days many people, including myself, have to diversify to survive, but maybe thats what makes the job interesting too!
... or you could end up doing something really boring like taking pictures of sofas for a living .... imagine who'd want to ever do that!! ![]()

It rather depends on what you mean by "making money from photography" Ron.
I made a whole £249 profit last year (after tax that is!
- with not one Portrait included in the sales.
Mind you, I would have been pretty hungry trying to live on that.
I suspect there are quite a lot of us who can cover our costs with a small margin of profit on a part-time basis, but to make a living as a professional photographer strikes me as an extremely difficult and demanding career choice
