    Thank you.
    That at least is re-assuring.
I'm looking for an AF 20mm f2.8D lens; and this guy is selling them at 1/2 price.
(when it seems too good to be true ~ it usually is Grin)

    I hope it's not, but .......

And a little more research shows that address as being this.

Make of that what you will?

A family run business based in Lancashire according to their About Us page., but you might not want to take that for granted as their General Enquiries page then seems to identify them as Leyton Cameras?????

This 12 months warranty covers manufacturing defects developed with your product during the valid warranty period which start from the date that have received the order from Leyton Cameras.

How can I cancel my order?
You can send an email direct to us at sales@leytoncameras.com . We will send you a cancellation confirmation email upon receipt your request.

    Leyton Cameras

Make of that what you will!

    Also known as 'Silver Centre'.

Apparently 'Leyton Cameras' is a trading name

OK. Thank you all - they are, apparently, connected with Olimpic Cameras, which it seems is a scam and presently unavailable, through Silver Centre (UK) Ltd. who, in a pin-striped suit and a trilby hat, complete with Woodbine in the corner of their mouth, explain it all away in the most plausible of terms GrinGrinGrinGrin .

    Ah, well.
There are plenty of others on the market at more realistic (expensive) prices

Your contributions/directions have been much appreciated.

The following from a search for Leyton Cameras, and directed to a similar forum question.

Quote: DEFINATELY scammers. Would have been caught myself to-day but fortunately my banks fraud section stopped the payment even before I'd realised. When you enter your credit card details they will immediately attempt a transaction using them. If this succeeds I imagine a BIGGER TRANSACTION WILL FOLLOW.

On first look a plausible site but note: No telephone number. Address they claim to be based in Lancashire but 'trade' from a London address that doesn't exist. DON'T sign up. DON'T enter credit card details.

I've no idea why I had reservation - probably the price - but I'm glad I did.
    A salutary lesson

For what it may (or may not) be worth, I bought this lens back in April from Microglobe. Including Special Delivery postage it was 399.

I have found that online retailer very reliable with several purchases made from them in recent years. Maybe not the cheapest but thoroughly reliable and 100% British.

Thank you both, for your pointers.
I'll follow each of them up.
