A little bit of self trumpet blowing today, apologies in advance.

I picked up an e-mail today from the Andover Based Hawk Conservancy Trust to inform me that I had won their 2008 Photographer of the year award with an image of a Short Eared Owl in the Wild on the Isle of Mull.
My shot was chosen as the winer by TV presenter Chris Packham who is a trustee of the charity and judged the competition

I know it's not a major competition but I am feeling very pleased with myself today.

My prize includes a photographic day at the Trust, and my choice of a UK workshop with Wild-arena.

Now how do I persuade my wife I need to upgrade from my trusty, if slightly battered, Nikon D50 if I win things like this.

Thanks for listening.

Phil

Congratulations!
Very well done, Phil. I know I would be over the moon if I won anything.

How about showing her some of the prizes in the bigger competitions which you have no chance of winning unless you upgrade your rusty, battered Nokon D50 Wink

Well done!

Do you have a linky to the winning photo? (assuming you have it in your gallery of course)

Thank you all.

Hi Matt, my image is in my p/f, but I'm not sure how to link to it from here, it's on the 3rd page in, The Hunter at Dusk.
