Sad I have just moved to Greece, Zakynthos to be correct. I have been trying to buy a tripod without a centre coulomb so I can use it at any angle. I cannot find a supplier that will send me one out except from the USA (after tax & packing cost nearly 700 dollars). Anyone know of a company that can sell me such a tripod I would be very grateful.
    Thanks

My Manfrotto 055 can be used without the centre column - there is a plastic piece normally on the bottom of the centre column, which you can unclip from the column, then attach it to the top instead of the column itself.

Many thanks for the info, that gives me 90". I needed a "swinging" type arm type as I am a bit disabled and unable to get into some positions with any ease.

    Try Here:

    ELECTRON S.A.
    68, Antiohias Street
    Nea Philadelphia
    143 41 Athens
    GREECE
    Phone: (30) 210 2584240
    Fax: (30) 210 2584245

They deal with Manfrotto lighting products and may also do tripods. If not, they will certainly be able to give you a local supplier.

I looked at Manfrotto but the Giotto's MTL9351 B was a tad cheaper and a tad taller. I went for the ball head version.
