HELP! Iris stuck

Has anyone any idea if the Iris on a 28-300 Sigma lens (old model) can be freed off, or is it a back to manufacturer job?
The iris just seems to have stuck at f22 and won't open out again.
Any clues appreciated.

What mount is the lens? If its, eg a Nikon then there may be something or nothing fouling the mechanical linkages, in which case you or a competant local repair guy may be able to fix it (unless its more serious of course). If its eg, a Canon mount, then the linkages are electronic which may mean a trip to Sigma to sort it.

The mount is Sigma SA. I don't know if it's mechanical or electronic!

Its electronic Ian. I still have a couple of my old Sigma mount lenses sitting in the wardrobe - really must get round to selling them!

Thanks Tim. Looks like it's going to have to have a trip back to the maker!
Thanks for your help.
(P.S. What have you got?)

Hi Ian,
I have a 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Minizoom Macro and a 70-210mm f/2.8 Apo. The latter is a very fine lens indeed. Interested? Wink

Hope the repairs aren't too painful.
