Go to a decent camera shop and try out both the Canon 100mm-400mm and the Sigma 150mm-500mm, Then decide for yourself which is for you....
As a by the way I use a Sigma 150mm-500mm OS on a Nikon D700, The lens has been fantastic in every situation I have used it in, Bang for bucks the Sigma is a steal....
A close Canon user colleague who has the 100-400 Canon option, Reckons my Sigma is every bit as good and in some conditions better....
Whatever, I really like the Sigma, But you may not.....
In March this year i went out to purchase the Sigma 100-400m but none in my local shop, but they had just had in the 150-500mm, i got it for a bargain price( long term customer) £750, i absolutely love it, but it took me a few trips out with to even start getting results, look on page 3 of my website , type all of it.
