I would like to know how i can change the colour of the canvass in photoshop. I am trying to pre impose photos on to a black canvass in photoshop and need to change the colour of the background behind the canvass because i cant tell where the borders of the canvass are because it is the same colour as the background. I would like to turn the background of photoshop to grey so i can use black and white canvasses. Can anyone tell me how to change the background colour in photoshop. Thanks
Sorry not in front of the right PC at the moment, why not just add a new layer and then edit>fill that layer with black. then drop the new photo on top?
Or check out this link - where it shows you can define the canvas extension colour.

Good luck.

Elements 10: open an image, right click on anywhere apart from the image and choose a colour from the drop down. I'm guessing that it will also work in whichever version you're using.
