Gone 'under'

Administrators have been appointed.

Either way just a heads up for people with vouchers

If 'they' are appointed then... that is not (normally) good news. Smile

Interesting - I knew my local branch was closing in February when their lease was up but with a view to reopening in a different location later in the year. Looks like that won't be happening now......

Sad times for the poor sods who depend on the wage each month

Bloody hell, Andys records, Virgin Records, now HMV. Now the only place left to buy a cd in reality is Tescos Sad

Not unsurprising news, the music and dvd world has changed so much HMV were virtually certain to be a casualty, still I feel for the staff more than customers moaning about some vouchers they didn' even pay for themselves.

Thankfully Sheffield has Record Collector and Rare & Racy, both independent who were around "when I were a lad" and appear to be outliving them all!
Also check out who's in charge at HMV

Very, very sad SadSadSad

Who is Trevor Moore going to go to next ..

14 Jan 2013 - 10:23 PM

He said Mr Moore, who has been credited with a raft of improvements at Jessops,"has the right skills and experience to lead HMV in the coming years".

Mr Fox (outgoing HMV boss) said (Aug 2012): "I am proud to be leaving HMV with a profitable future secured. The appointment of Trevor Moore means that I will be leaving the company in safe hands."

Might this be anything like a Midas touch?
