Any time I'm out with the camera and taking landscapes pictures or if I'm at home taking portrait pictures, I will always shoot with my left eye closed.
When I'm at the track trying to capture good action shots I have been trying to get used to shooting with my left eye open so I can keep an eye on other people on there bike just in case they are the ones to bin it and give me the action.
Is there anyone out there who has mastered doing this as I find it really difficult to do.
No need to worry about the focus as auto usually takes care of things, however panning is getting harder trying this technique.

Well I personally have little choice as I lost the sight in my left eye due to a golfing accident back in 1994 but as far as I can remember, I kept both eyes open before having the accident.

as a kid, was you ever left alone?
Well there must be method in my madness of keeping my left eye open to spot the good shots.
Interesting to know others do it too.
I best just keep trying it and hopefully practise will make me more used to it.
err... I am right handed, but I always use my left eye for the viewfinder, closing my right eye. Isn't that the normal way to do things then ?
edit : I sometimes keep my right eye open though to keep an eye on what goes on around the viewfinder area
