I've had Lightroom 4 for a few months now and think it's an amazing tool....but if you're like me, a pragmatist, I just wanted to dive in and get going....of course that way I missed some of the important processes or just by-passed the little tweaks and presets that make the workflow that much easier.
This video was posted on Adobe's facebook page, and having watched it, I think anyone new to Lightroom would be interested....so if you haven't already seen it......here's the link ![]()

10 Things Beginners Want To Know
Thanks for posting the link, I learnt a few useful things watching that. ![]()
I only watched a few minutes.
I do not believe creating so many different catalogues for different types of shot is best practice.
I can perhaps see the advantage for say a wedding photographer having a catalogue for each wedding but just as easy to use smart collections within the same catalogue.
There is a perfectly valid argument for separating personal work from business work into separate catalogues though.
Useful link thanks.
One thing I have struggled with is the folder tree and wonder if anybody here has some advice. LR seems to just show the lowest level folder name, so if you have the same folder name in 2 paths (eg 2012\Spring and 2013\Spring) the only way to tell which is which is to go into the folder.
Is there a way to get LR to show more of the file path?
Aha, I haven't spotted the hover! Thanks I'll give that a try.
