HP printer weird colours

Old Photosmart 7450. Always printed lovely prints. Original cartridges. Now printing slightly off/weird colours and darker. No problems before and always worked fine though haven't printed a lot of photo quality prints lately (tend to go online now). Far as I know no settings changed. Had cartridges about a year poss longer. Also both cartridges indicating half+ full. Don''t know whether to bin printer or get two new HP cartridges at 20 quid a throw as never tried compatibles. Help and comments most welcome before i lose it and throw it threw the window. John.

Hi JDP,

I can't help with why but I would like to know why as I have a 7460 which I can no longer produce colour prints with.( just started in the last couple weeks) Colours are way off seems like the Printer has a mind of its own now and prints what ever it wants to. B+W prints are ok but colour Sad. I have all new cartridges and have not changed any settings. I think it's in the process of packin it in. Time for a new Epson I think.

You may need new print heads. Write to HP and ask them.
