Having recently forked out on a Hasselblad Xpan, I'm new to manual lenses on a rangefinder. I'm happy with my trannies so far but haven't had them printed.

When you focus using the hyperfocal range with infinity pushed to the F22 line (aperture set to F22) and the foreground in focus is the sharpness of infinity jeopardised at all?

Providing the infinity mark is no further than the f/22 mark on the lens scale it will be in sharp focus, along with everything to the f/22 mark on the other side of the lens scale.

Thanks for the reassurance Pete. Are we talking about the middle, start or end part of the infinity mark?

    Cheers for the advice

The golden rule is . When the camera is focussed to the hyperfocal point, the focus will be from half the hyperfocal point to infinity.

I set mine to the middle of the infinity mark - seems to do the trick
