    ......when I read This

May he rot in hell for the time of his confinement, which unfortunately will not be that longSad

Creatures that should be flying free, are dead because of his greed and unfortunately those who wish to own such "trophies"

B*****D, he should of been given at least 13 years and fined the minimum of 10K for each bird...........and then birched..

You're certainly right about greed...........it's everywhere........

We know this practise is rife in some countries, but to take place on our own doorstep is awful.

Should have caught a few voles and tied them to his g*****s, then staked him out for the night

I think we should find out whether being around these magnificent birds has had something rub off on him Throw him off a block of flats and see if he can fly (( I would pay to see that ))

Now while what he did was wrong, there is no actual mention of how he obtained the birds, it is possible they were pets or reared birds who had died of natural causes, especially with birds such as Hawk owl a bird which has been recorded wild in the UK only a handful of times and not since 1989 (Shetland).

Point being though, trade creates demand, which encourages similar activity.

A good point Ashley, but I doubt it.
If that had been the case, it would have been a good defence, but no mention of itSad
