You're certainly right about greed...........it's everywhere........

There were bird photo's in the article and as they were stuffed no movement blur in the wings.

Now while what he did was wrong, there is no actual mention of how he obtained the birds, it is possible they were pets or reared birds who had died of natural causes, especially with birds such as Hawk owl a bird which has been recorded wild in the UK only a handful of times and not since 1989 (Shetland).
Point being though, trade creates demand, which encourages similar activity.

A good point Ashley, but I doubt it.
If that had been the case, it would have been a good defence, but no mention of it![]()
