What is fascinating about big chimneys ? Mind there are not so many of them about nowadays, thanks to Fred Dibnah. God bless him.
That mention of Fred Dibnah reminded me of a tale that Blaster Bates told about a time he blew up a chimney. His mate was a photographer and asked if he could go with him. Bates tod him where the chimney would be falling and where to stand when the chimney came towards him. When the shot was fired, the tog froze as he saw the chimney coming towards him.
Bates' punch line was, "Fourty miles there, fourty miles back, s**t himself and left his lens cap on!"
