Hello people I'm a newbie to the site and I am in the search of some ideas. I'm looking for some ideas for interesting locations in Norfolk for landscape photography, I'm still learning the art and I am struggling to find new and interesting things to photograph to hone my skills. I have photographed various things so far from Norwich landmarks to North Norfolk seascapes. A person favourite of mine is Whittlingham Broad but after multiple visits at varying times of the day I am beginning to exhaust this gem.
So to finalise, any ideas would be very gratefully accepted so I can keep learning this fascinating and endless pastime.
Thanks for the help,
Matt
How about windmills that you see at intervals along the broads. The Broads have loads of ghost stories apparitions of nuns, horse and coaches, hitchhikers down dark country lanes, try recreating some of them ![]()
thurne windpump, happisburgh lighthouse, all saints church @ billockby & as memory serves somewhere around stalham/hickling there was a wrecked windmill but very photogenic.
Windmills and lighthouses. That's it.
Norfolk is extremely flat.
Suffolk is just really flat.
Get yourself to Scotland, Cumbria, Wales or Devon I'd say.
(Just my opinion you know
)

My knowledge of geography isn't what it used to be, but when did those locations become part of Norfolk ????????????!!!!!!!! ![]()
I can't remember ever saying that the places mentioned were in Norfolk????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
We really are spoilt with landscape opportunities in Norfolk, the coastline is such a diverse one with opportunities for completely different images up and down the coast. The landscape is obviously quite flat so it’s important to find a subject that can add a bit of height to your images such as a windmill, tree or church, fortunately we have loads of these.
Thornham Creek is lovely. Especially if you can combine it with a high tide close to sunrise or sunset as the whole area floods over.
Holkham is good and well worth a visit. Personally because of where the sun rises and sets I prefer the stretch from Brancaster to Cromer from around March to September time so I tend to ignore them more at this time of year and concentrate on other areas of the coast.
Happisburgh beach is still well worth a look.
The stretch of coastline including Sea Palling, Waxham, Horsey and Winterton all look fantastic at sunrise.
From December to March the Broads are at its best with the fantastic colours of the reeds and the fact that there are hardly any of the ugly plastic cruisers blocking your view.
Hope this helps.
