Desperation is setting and I need help ....

Currently working with iMovie '09 and have a couple of issues

1. My iTunes does not appear in my iMovie
I have check the configurations on my laptop iMovie (which does have iTunes showing) and they appear to be the same. I have deleted the iMovie plist and library xl and rebooted and this has made no difference. Am I missing something ??

2. Also have an issue with sound levels .... When I export a movie and play it from my desktop, the sound levels are reduced by about 40%
How do I retain the same sound levels I hear in iMovie ?

i movie and i tunes are indeed different applications on every mac
Perhaps I didn't explain it very well .... When you open iMovie, there is a window from which you can access additional material like Title, Transitions, photos etc.
Also in this list is music and sound effects. When I click this, nothing appears. It should bring up my iTune library in the window

also if uv got mountain lion a new update has just come out for itunes try installing that too
