    Hi,

I'm looking for the cheapest place to buy offical Epson 890 printer cartridges.

I usually get them from 7dayshop.co.uk. Their prices are currently 30.95 for colour (3-pack) and 33.95 for black (3-pack).

Does anyone know of a cheaper retailer? Or is this the lowest price that I'm likely to find?

    Thanks,
    Mark Goldstein

i think you will find ink for the 890 printer is cheapest in 7 day shop & mx2, If you pop into your local dixons you will see how cheap these
guernsey based shops are. if you want cheaper ink you could always use compatables.alan

    Hi Mark,

Last place I tried that was very good was Inkraider.

They're currently selling Epson colour cartridge for 11.85 and black for 11.30.

Works out pretty similar price to the one you're paying at the moment, but cheap if you want to buy individually rather than 3 packs.

Thanks very much for the replies.

I'm only interested in the official Epson cartridges, so I guess I'll stick with 7DayShop Smile

After seeing the price of the official Epson cartridges, are the Epson compatible cartridges as good as the official ones?

I have an Epson 890 and am trying to justify the 70 that it will cost to buy 3 colour and 3 black catridges from 7dayshop.co.uk. The equivalent compatible cartridges would only cost 30...

I'm going to buy 1 each of the compatible ones anyway and give them a try.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I have used compatables on odd occasions without much bother. in our local digital club quite a few use only compatables with various makes of
printers.i have heard that if something goes wrong with the printer andthey discover you have used compatables they will cancel your warranty.[epson]
by the way mx2 are advertising the colour cartridge @10.70 each which is cheaper than 7 day
3 rate. i only print photographs on my printer
and use 1 black for every four or five colour cartridges. alan

That's what I wanted to hear! Thanks Smile

I've also ordered some Ilford Smooth Pearl paper, after reading all the enthusiastic reviews for it at 7dayshop. 100 sheets of 280gsm photo paper for only 17.99...

Where's your local digital club located Alan?

Re the comment about Ilford Pearl paper - I've tried it and am very impressed, but best of all it is on "buy one get one free" in PC World at the moment.
