I am using aperture 3 on my iMac and i really like the organiser but i miss using elements editing software for some functions. Is it possible to use elements 10 as a plugin without the elements organiser part and maintain using aperture as the priority organiser.
I doubt it as the organiser is an integral part of the software package, Why not just install it, Then don't use the organiser, Its optional anyhow....![]()
In the preferances of PSE 10, You will find a setting that brings up just the PSE 10 interface, Without the organiser....![]()
Not sure what you mean use as a Plugin, PSE 10 is a stand alone software in its own right....!!!
Go to your Applications in Finder and delete the organiser app, this is a separate app to Elements. I'm using PSE9 and it doesn't affect the workings at all. I've always preferred Aperture 3 for total organisation.
cheers TTT,
I like aperture for it non destructive editing but i prefer the clone and healing plus a few other function of my elements. just a couple of questions TTT. When I'm working in aperture can i open the image in elements from aperture. i.e.. go to photo on top tool bar and select edit in elements. I can do this with portrait professional studio. when i have finished editing i can then click save and the image is saved back in aperture for me to finish working on.
Rambler,
Quote: You could use the organiser to save images you are or have worked on. For example when working with layers each stage could be saved as a version set .
I really do feel sorry for you guys using layers in photoshop. Layers was only required because photoshop is a destructive editing tool and requires saving various copies as you work. The beauty of Apples Aperture is all editing is non destructive. you can go back and remove or change any editing you want to regardless of when or what order you did them. It also only requires one copy (the original file) so you save a load of hard drive space.
for 90% of editing Apertures is far better than photoshop. but photoshop does dow some thing which i miss.
Thanks for your help guys
