A private photography day with the Owls & Buzzards.

This would be Junior Epzer’s only, what do you think?

Can I have some help with the following?

1: At what cost? or should I offer it free as a courtesy to support EPZ & its Junior members?
2: Should the day take place during school holidays?
3: Can an EPZ member or 2 offer joint assistance with me on the day?

This has been on my mind for months now so I thought it would be a good idea to release it from my mind.

Vince, it might be worth chatting to Fran about this.

Gosh, Vince, what a wonderful gesture! I;m sure that there will be lots of Junior members interested.

The school holidays would be good, and I might be able to come along and help out with looking after them.

There are a few things that need sorting first so i'll PM you my landline number so we can possibly have a chat about it Smile

I think it's a great idea Vince and agree with Mark, have a chat to Fran.
Hard part would be getting parents to agree.
Perhaps EPZ could get involved sort of add a more public face to it, if you know what I mean.

Good luck though and keep us up to date.

If it's in the school holidays, I might be able to go along as the "Official" face of EPZ (I have CRB enhanced disclosure).

I think that getting the invitation out to our Juniors may be a problem - - let's see Smile

Thanks for the PM Fran. I will call you this morning before midday.

    Vince

    PM also sent

Vince/Fran, keep me in the loop with this. No promises, but if it works out OK with my shifts, then I would be glad to help out. Only about an hour and 20 Mins travelling for me.

    Phil.

I think it will be all down to Fran with this Phil. More in the way of planning needs to be done through EPZ, which is what is posssibly going on behind the scenes.

If tackled correctly, personally I think it would be a great opportunity to get some good PR from the day when it happens, maybe photo mags & local press. Just an extra idea to create more publicity to EPZ, its Junior Members & of course the charity I represent, what do you think?

Vince / Fran - If you need another adult for this activity I would be glad to help, I work in a school so am available in school hols and I'm also CRB'd.
My daughter (age 9) thinks this is a great idea and would love to see and photograph the birds Smile

Right folks, I think it's time to make this one Official. Not heard from EPZ yet, but I think there is enough interest to make this a goer!

Vince, if you can suggest a date in March - - possibly a Saturday (afternoon if possible, as I have to travel down from OOOP North!) I'm sure we will not be short of takers.

We can create a meeting page and I will add a little note to all the Junior shots to make them aware of it.

As for adult helpers, the more the merrier for me, think we need to set a few "rules", such as:

    Only children shooting
Children must be accompanied by an adult
    Limit numbers to 10/12

I will speak to the team about making this thread a "sticky" so it always appears on the front page to give it a good chance of being seen.

I'm sure we will have Juniors queuing up for this - - let's bite the bullet and go for it!

(I'll ask the mods to change the thread title too) Smile

Right, title changed and we've now got a sticky thread - - so let's get a date sorted and publicise this! Smile

Thanks Mods, for your help on this too Smile

As soon as we have agreed a date, I'll create a meeting page, in the meantime if you (a Junior with Adult support) OR you have a junior in your family who you would be willing to bring along to the Barn Owl Centre in Gloucester for a couple of hours shooting the birds (FOC, thanks to Vince) Put your name here.

If we get too many, I'll have to talk to Vince about what we do then Smile

    Hi Fran,
Please count Emilyamber in with one adult (by order of the missus) Smile

    Hi Fran

Subject to dates, I reckon my two may be interested. I could give you a lift if you want.

I'll keep my eye on the thread.
