sports togs want a bigger pixel count for magazine and advertising shots, 8mp or 4mp like older models is alittlebit of a drawback, and now memory cards are getting very large the handling capabilty will be ok

Rumours of a new 1d mkii ie the mk iii with full frame 11mp sensor, huge buffer, and 10.4 fps are going round

Full frame sensors is really going to hurt the wildlife photographers out there. Losing the x1.6 or x1.3 mag factor will make life very interesting even if with the increased pixel count you can crop the images alot. Kinda pointless to my mind

I think about 3-4 months ago it was rumoured that the 1Ds Mk III would have 18Mp - a cosmetic 8%, and probably utterly pointless, increase in resolution.

I do not know what the latest rumour is! Grin

the latest rumour is 22MP...or so I hear.

there is also the EOS 3D that has had plenty of rumours circulating recently. Its meant to line up between the 30D and the 1 series.

The latest I heard was that as soon as the new Fuji Pro comes out there will be thousands of Canon camera's on Ebay.
Perhaps you could tell me - is there something wrong with Canon's current lineup that makes you want the next new model as I was thinking of buying a Canon digital camera in the very near future
cheers

Technophilia. Plenty of smart people wait for a new model to come out to pick up the existing one when all the people who must have the latest stick them on ebay.

When the 30D came out there was within a few days a 20D in the classifieds for 450!

Where'd you hear that, from Fuji? WinkA salesman desperately trying to offload some Fuji's? Now if you had said that about Nikon, there just might have been some sense in it, bearing in mind they both use Nikon lenses. Even if a few Canon owners did fancy the Fuji, I doubt many would sell up all their kit and start afresh with Fuji and Nikon lenses. Don't believe all you hear! Wink

Any possibility of a 3D being released? I would assume the 3D would be based on the EOS3 with eye control and 45AF points with a possible built in additional grip and probably be smaller than the 1D?
