Looked out of the window this morning and it was a glorious sunny day, no ice on the cars so I thought I may go for a walk.
Looked out of the back window to see that the felt had been ripped off the roof of my shed (did we have gales last night in Bournemouth?)
So, my walk turned into 2 hours of roof felting. I can't feel my feet or hands and I think I have hypothermia.
So much for a nice sunny morning - the wind is coming from a Polar Bear's backside!

Keep your batteries warm, Brian!

I use my wife's back for that (you should see my scars! )

You mean it smells of rancid seal?
Colder than penquin pee here.
This is how a December day should be. None of that grey wet murk we have had to put up with for so long. I went for a long walk at lunch and in a perverse sort of way was happy that my ears froze.
Hope it's like this next Friday.
Well said Ian! I'm loving every second of it!
Yeah, it's a bugger to drive on the ice, and I've nearly fallen on my @rse while walking the dog, but the crystal clear blue skies, crispy frozen grass under foot... this is what winter is all about.
No real snow here just yet despite Lincolnshire alledgedly getting the brunt of it. Seems it missed us out up north and headed to the southern counties instead.

Couldn't agree more - so long as I don't have to sit on a shed roof hammering my fingers instead of the felt tacks (you only realise how many times you have done it when your fingers thaw out - then it smarts!)
If it stays like this it will our traditional Boxing Day walk on Hengistbury Head followed by a Posh Nosh for lunch at a local hotel - here's hoping the weatherman gets it right this year.
(Nice thought Jools - I'm glad I have no sense of smell! )
We're off to Sawley in search of snow on Christmas Eve. A walk then lunch at the Spread Eagle.
Well I'm hoping I don't freeze standing outside tonight in the party dress waiting for the taxi (think they should bring back multi-layered ballgown affairs for this time of year)
make sure you are wearing your thermals underneath Katy
(Have a good party)

Can you explain that in a bit more detail, Brian?
p.s. only joking!!
It's a balmy -8c here today.......feels like spring
Yeah, but you Canadians are cross-mated with Polar Bears, so you don't feel the cold like what we do!
