Yes I have Nick about a month ago. I didn't know a lot of these "things" they are offering even existed and why you might want them!!!! GrinGrinBlushBlush
Went through a spate about 6 months ago but they stopped and they seemed to have slowed down again now - I now just ignore them and delete them without even looking!!

Can't you set comments to have to be approved? I thought most sites offered this now as a way of stopping spam comments.

just mean it needs to be approved to appear on website, doesn't stop it though.

Don't think anything will stop it but it's better to not have them appear I'd have thought.

From my help page on foliopic............

I keep receiving spam comments how do I stop them?
If you go to Settings>Website Details then change the Spam Blocker: from Math Verfication to Image Verfication then that should stop the spam.

I'll ask the guys to look at increasing the height of the walls. You have to be careful with this or genuine none spam comments can get blocked too.
I wonder if there are certain sites that are attracted to spam. On of our old test user sites for foliopic gets loads. I get absolutely none. I have mine set to require approval.

If you haven't had much normal activity you need to work on making the site more interesting from an seo perspective. More content, more people following, more links from valued sites etc.

Have also had these Spam comments mostly seem to come from Eastern Europe. Reset approval to image and it seems to have worked.

We have noticed, in our case with the foliopic blog, that spammers are targeting blog posts related to 'guestbook' keyword. It might be worth seeing if there is a pattern to what the spammers are hitting as often times they target particular sites or pages based off keywords or search engine rankings.

My spam was also when they posted to the Guestbook.
