Hi everyone!
I graduate from university later this month and I thought it was about time to get myself a website. Any feedback is much appreciated ![]()
www.coldasicephoto.co.uk
Thanks!
Lo
Hi Lauren,
Congratulations on your pending graduation, keep up the hard work right till the end. I'm assuming its a photo related course?
With the Cold as Ice title I'd expect a ice hockey photo on the main page. In fact it may be good to specialise a bit there as there are loads of motorsport photographers.
then maybe get a photo like the "Janis Ozolins and Ben Morgan of the Sheffield SteelDogs at the EPL semi-finals in Coventry." one and slightly blur out the crowd and make the player razor sharp.
Do you use lightroom - i've found it great for sharpening and exporting photo's out to the web at exactly the right size to keep them sharp.
Good luck
Stuart

Cool - rent a fast lens for a game and get some wide open high shutter speed shots. Get them to stage a few shots for you as well. Get on the Ice with a few of them and show the Ice too.
Lauren,
Its quite a nice website although there are two things that strike me-
The watermark on the photographs is a little large and I'm not sure I like the font as it's a little old-fashioned.
The biography is written in the third person. I prefer a sort of personal mission statement, which would help the specialisation suggested by JackAllTog.
Mike.
Hi Lo (sounds like I'm playing cards!),
Nice looking site - I particularly like the minimalist look and feel of it. I'm in the process of putting a new site together so might borrow some inspiration. Loads very quickly, and I agree with the 3rd person comments - much more personal if it's written in the 1st person in my opinion.
I might be being a bit fussy, but the cover image of the yellow car looks slightly too blurred for me. Perhaps the one of Josh Daley on the bike could be used? Maybe you could flip them round so that the eye is travelling left to right within the image - that's the way text is read so it would kind of make sense.
Nice site though!
Damien
