Its not often I get a present that actually makes me scream out loud, but when I unwrapped this I did! My dad painted me a portrait of Harold Lloyd of whom i have been a massive, massive fan since I was about 4.

I've told him he had to make these to sell, he already takes commissions for his other paintings.20121225-100106.jpg

That's a really good portrait. I've always liked Harold Lloyd and preferred him to Laurel and Hardy. I used to watch them years ago when there were only three channels on tellySmile

    Happy Christmas, Alan.

I know, I keep telling him he can be making a living from this now he's retired! I said he should do some more of them, Marilyn Monroe, MArloN Brandon, James Dean, Charlie Chaplin etc, he's doing one of Buster Keaton at the moment, he's very happy to do commisions though if anyone is interested, he'll paint pets and people from photos etc and he sells well at his exhibitions.

Here's a better version, the right way round.

Now that's what I call a present!... Your own portfolio shows the same artistic skills. I hope you gave him some of your work in return!Wink

Hi, I am a fan of Harold Lloyd as wel,l since a young age.
He was an excellemt tennis player too.
Despite having lost some of his fingers on one hand he did his stunts himself, had no stuntman.

Great painting from your dad Smile

I did not know he was such a talented photographer - I love this; Roni at Monument Valley (nude)

Great painting by your Dad, also. You will treasure that!

    Happy New Year!
