Myself, Phil Morgan and ge22y have somehow blagged his fathers motor home on the condition we pick something up for him in Kent.
We fancy going to Dungeoness but would like to have some suggestions of any other locations in the area.
Anyone know the area well.
Ian
That depends what you are after doing/photographing Ian!
Dungeoness is one of my favourite spots in the country, very stark, but with a beauty in the starkness (on the beach area), juxtaposed with the wonderful vibrant nature reserve near by. I could spend days down there, and still not have overdosed on photographing the area.
Oh and try eating at the little resturant as you turn down the road to the power station, great fish!!
Dungeness is great. Make sure you are there after the sun goes down as the light can be absolutely magical then.
If you have the time consider popping into East Sussex and visiting Rye which is very pretty in a twee sort of way. Also, a few miles further and you'll find Hastings, which has a lot to offer including a larger beach launched fishing fleet than Dungeness! PS neither of the Dungeness Pubs are up to much at all, you'll get better food in Hastings & Rye but you won't be in such a wonderful place.
Leeds Castle - well I had to mention it didn't I ![]()
Knole Park is lovely, fantastic house and deer park. My other fav'e haunts have already been mentioned Hastings/Rye etc. in East Sussex, but Bodiam Castle is very close by too! Port Lympne Zoo and Howletts aren't far away either and don't forget the new wind farm nr Dungeness.
Whitstable and Reculver on the North Kent coast would be worth a visit too.
