This morning I visited Leonardslee Gardens for the first time in over 20 years. The rain bucketed down so my camera stayed in the bag for most of the time (did get a couple of cracking shots on the card though).

It seems to me that Leonardslee is a little piece of photographic heaven. How might that be? Well through the downpour I noted a wide range of subjects including:

    Wildlife - Wallabies (including albinos)
Birdlife - A wide set of woodland birds, ducks on the lakes and blooded feathers on the ground suggesting the presence of raptors too
Landscape - Woodlands, lakes, steps, curving pathways
Architecture - The main house plus lots of smaller structures around the site
Plantlife - Exotica in the Greenhouse plus hundreds of different types of trees, shrubs, flowers and "weeds"
Macro - Opportunities present themselves everywhere including the interesting rock gardens, rusted gates and woodland
Location shooting - fantastic steep backdrops
Sculpture - In the grounds and on walls
    People ......
Plus other opportunities that I have yet to think about Smile

It seems to me that there could be a full day or even two day photoshoot in the making and I wondered if you have had any experience of the place?

Thanks for sharing your ideas, observations, thoughts and suggestions.

Yes, a regular visitor for many years around 1991 to 1997, ended up with so many pictures decided to give it a break for while.
Trouble is found other places and not been back.

Oh, by the way Stephen... It is up for sale, if you have some spare cash Smile

And yes, it would be a great place for an epz meet but we have so much to do, Bluebells, Devil's Dyke sunset, Stanmer Park / Ditchling. Wink
