I am using Lightroom 3, which I bought to use with CS5. However, when editing my photos, Lightroom keeps crashing.
This is driving me nuts. I am a computer expert and have tried everthing. I feel I should have bought other software.
I think lightroom is crap.
I would not recomment this software to anyone.

Lightroom is my main program - I use it more than Photoshop these days. It's a superb tool.
2nd that Pete, i've just bought LR3 and think it's the mutts nutts, but i'm no computer expert, so i'll shut up and go and process some more photo's....
I really like Lightroom as well - when I started I did have a load of crashes but that has turned out to be a bad network card in the PC which I can now crash easily without lightroom
The one thing I wish was better though is the clone/heal tool - would prefer a brush to those circles.
I am not using a network, so don't know what is the problem.
Trying to edit my photos, and with lightroom keeping crashing it is driving me nuts.
The fact that my neighbour's are using a band saw is not helping my mood!
I wish I would have stuck with Elements and not tried to be more professional.
Could simply be down to RAM? what's your system?
Ram, is not is the problem.
I have a palicomp i7 computer with 6gb of memory.
All my other software, including CS5 works fine.
Only Lightroom 3 is unstable.
If your neighbour is using a band saw, and you are on the same power supply, phase, maybe you are getting, back EMF, into your supply when he stops his saw.
Just a thought, I am no computer expert, but was a industrial electrical engineer.
I'm running an i7 Mac with 4gig and have absolutely no problems? have you checked to make sure there are no updates available from Adobe?
I have done the updates.
I have had this problem since I bought lightroom 3 and I wish I had just stayed with cs5.
CS5 does not crash, but lightroom is crashing every ffffkjklk photo I try to edit.
I have enough stress in my life without other problems.
If I do not get Lightroom working I will slate it on every photographers website forums,
and then will pack photography in and find another, less stresser hobby.
I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!
Quote: I will slate it on every photographers website forums,
Good Luck with that, the Luminous Landscape website will be the best one to get a good response !!
Likewise my main program. I wouldn't say it was cr*p - far from it.
Inefficient/not very well coded - yes - I find it a bit sluggish even on a powerful modern day machine - I know it's a bit more complex than Google's Picasa, but as an example, that's way way quicker to render image previews/flick through images and will work on any old machine.
Why not contact Adobe....or am I being thick?

As an Adobe customer have you tried contacting them?
Rather than slating LR3 because it's not working for you, why not speak to Adobe upfront to see if there tech guys can help.
Fishing's a lot less stressful if you can't get it sorted.
