Quote: Hi Cathy
This might be what you are looking for www.fstoppers.com/how to directly tether your camera to an iPad by Lee Morris
Not sure. How A $300 Camera Could Change The Movie Industry will help Tether the iPad?
Cathay, your correct there is no way at present to do what we would both like to do, even Chriss would like it himself I'm sure for video, as I said before the only way at present to give you that functionality is a hd monitor designed for the role like the Lilliput. 7inch hd monitor

Kev the HD monitor won't help her do that. Her camera does not have Live View.

Yes, sorry forgot that, I assumed that every cam had live vuew until I read the above, was thinking of one of the monitors for myself but everyone keeps telling me to save my money as they don't get used as much as we think we would use the. Also been told that large screens even with shades are useless in bright light
Thanks for all the links etc.......I'll have a look through today. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anything out there........I'll let you know if the iPad3 has any capabilities like that...it arrives today but I'm not holding my breath.
It is definitely possible with a D4 and the wireless transmitter.
with an iPad?
Quote: "The live view image can be displayed on the iPad or iPhone screen and most of the key camera settings (though it would seem not aperture) can be adjusted via the interface. It is even possible to use the screen’s touch sensitivity to set the camera’s focus point."
So, you are going to buy a D4 and an Ipad3? Nice.....
How much is a D4?
OMG just had a look on Warehouse Express.
you may get some change from 5k for the d4
The princely sum of £4799.........thats a NO
So theres nothing on the market that will enable my D200 to have live view???
The D300s has live view so would that little gadget that is on the side of the D4 fit on the D300s or something similar?

Yes. Buy any other camera which does have live view, and tape it to the viewfinder
Hi guys i am a newbie and i came across this thread and i want to tether my d3s to a iPad to shoot the total solar eclipse in November in Nth Queensland, i am told that i should use Lightroom 4 on a laptop not sure if this is the correct way to go as i would prefer to use a iPad, but i came across this and thought this might work for the OP Cathy.
As pointed out axle, the Op does not have liveview, without this digital means of comunicationfrom the camera nothing will work with the ops camera.
