Tatton park at knutsford may be viable, 15 miles away, large park with verious things to see and dohttp://www.tattonpark.org.uk/


I go often during the year and pas Jodrall Bank on the way, always wanted to go visit that but unfortunetly never get the chance

Hi KevSB, I've been to Tatton park not thought of it though, mansion is National trust and I think the grounds are council owned, my be wrong so don't quote me, will bear it in mind.

Hi aidrian_w, styal mill is also National trust was there just before christmas, Didsbury village sounds interesting can imagine it full of students, I'll fire up google and have a look.

Hi David, Didsbury to Salford Quays may as well drive home, I can remember Salford docks now quays working as docks, ships coming down the Manchester ship canal, go there often I'm now feeling very old.
