Hi, I've lost the CD of software that came with my camera! Does anybody know how on earth I can get my hands on another - or at least the Digital Photo Pro bit, as I would like to start using RAW, and not have to fork out for CS2 or an absurdly expensive alternative. The Canon website only offers updates - no full programmes. Many thanks - Ed.

If you contact Canon, you might be able to get a replacement CD.

I know you are not looking to spend money here...
    but...
you could have a look at C1 (http://www.phaseone.com/). You can download a 15 day demo, it is alot cheeper than CS2, and it far better than the Canon software.

if you buy a sandisk CF card you'll get a fee unlock key for phase one. well worth £17.99. but do it fast as I don't know how long the promo will last.

There's probably a few people with cards from Sandisk cards - although they have an expiry date printed on them of 31 March 2007 there are various comments on the Phase One forums saying that the codes are still valid.

What about Photoshop Elements ? You can download the latest plugin for Raw fromthe Adobe website.
Its only basic but I use it.

I bought a Sandisk card at the beginning of May and although the expiry date was end of March, it still worked.
Ed, I'm sure I have the DPP disks somewhere about. Do you want me to post them to you?

Thank you all very much indeed for the feedback. Phase One seems like a good option if I can get my hands on a Sandisk card. I had no idea they came with a 'key'. Trudy, if all else fails may I take you up on your offer?

    Thanks again,

    Ed

This website has downloads of all the Canon software for the EOS 400D/XTi (scroll down to the bottom). If they're not the most up to date you should then be able to use the updates on the official Canon sites.

    HTH,

    Simon
