It's here, I'm in Berlin at the launch now. You can check the news pages for the press release.
    Or click me.

First impressions are that it's an E-P1 clone but with slightly more features which are also better. Build quality is good and I love the 20mm pancake lens they've released at the same time.

Photos and hands on preview to follow so keep an eye on the review section too! Smile

    No in-camera IS :-(

If they had included that then it sounds so good with the better AF and the EVF.

They can't really go against their own Mega and Power OIS which are lens based. It would be like Nikon doing a body based IS

The preview is available for your perusal. Enjoy! Smile

I have to say that this looks good on paper, and sounds like what I wanted the EP-1 to be. You can turn off the god awful MF "Assist" which means you can compose and focus in a fluid manner whilst using MF, I hope they have some form of focus distance indicator too.

The iso1600 sample over at DPreview look impressive too!

I really like the look of it, too. Small, but not too small.

Btw, how do you convert the 4:3 system lenses to 35mm equivalent?

4/3 to 35mm is a simple 2x conversion. so the 20mm pancake is equivalent to a 40mm lens.

It does look nice... What's the RRP?

I'd expect it to be somewhere around the same price as the EP-1

    DPReview list it as:
    UK: 549.99 (body), 783 (with 20mm lens), 14-45mm kit TBA, LVF1 viewfinder: 186 (UK)

Presumably there is a bit of an issue with body-lens balance when the body is this small - with the larger zooms, I mean.

There are some sample shots here, with a nice look at the ISO range... very promising indeed!
