iv a macbook with mountain lion on plus net unable to send emails from macmail.wondered if anyone got similar problem.iv spoke to apple with a remote connection also plus net no joy
I have no idea re: plus net. I use webmail (yahoo) for my personal account, and the use of email clients such as MacMail and MS Outlook are only supported if I upgrade to their paid for service - weird considering I can have my mail pushed to my phone or iPad.
Do you get some kind of error message? The most likely cause of something like this is probably that you haven't set up the outgoing mail server (smtp) details correctly. Also, you seem to imply that you're able to receive mails?
I can't say that I'm a big fan of Apple's 'Mail' app on the Mac. It works okay but it seems to me like it could be a lot better than it is. That said, I've never got around to evaluating alternatives.
Have you raised this problem with Plusnet? They should be able to advise on any quirks re. setting up various mail clients on their service. I'm with Virgin Media, and they provide help pages on how to set up the top Windows, Mac (and possibly Linux?) mail clients.
No idea re plus net sorry but I did have a problem with hotmail when I first had my iMac. All I had to do was change my hotmail.com to a hotmail.co.uk account - something to do with the fact that the .com accounts were a bit "old hat" and the .co.uk was more uptodate. Not sure if this will help or not.
